19 April 2018 / 13:14

We have been appointed to provide a range of services for YMCA Birmingham as it improves the Northfield Hostel.

Our role includes Project Management, Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying for the major refurbishment and improvement of the facility, with initial phases now completed and funded granted for further site work in April 2018.

We are also busy supporting on the design stage of phases four and five.

Phase one and two work at the hostel has comprised ground floor refurbishment, including the provision of a training kitchen to educate tenants and a health suite where on-site care can be prescribed to tenants and the local community.

Phase three funding has been granted by Homes England and will include refurbishment of the residential accommodation to the first and second storey of the east wing and above the new health suite.

Phases four and five, which include the refurbishment of the sports hall, are due to be submitted for planning in spring.

Quantity Surveyor, Jon Windle, comments: “We’re delighted to be providing a range of services to help deliver this much-needed refurbishment scheme, which will vastly improve the Northfield facility for the YMCA. As the oldest and largest youth charity in the world, it’s an honour to be doing our bit towards helping vulnerable young people in the region and we look forward to the next phases coming forward.”
