Working co-operatively with db symmetry

17 December 2018 / 11:10

We’re delighted to confirm our appointment by db symmetry to support with the delivery of The Co-Op Food Group’s new 661,000 sq ft regional distribution centre at Symmetry Park, Biggleswade, in the heart of Bedfordshire.

The RDC will further reinforce the national retailer’s commitment to providing ‘best in class’ distribution to its network of over 4,000 UK stores.

Feasibility is providing Quantity Surveying services for the project.

With a 20 year lease in place, the new centre will provide a major boost to the local economy and is expected to create over 1,200 jobs.

Symmetry Park now has detailed planning consent for up to 1m sq ft of logistics space. It is anticipated that construction for the RDC will commence towards the end of 2019.

Our appointment follows the success of Symmetry Park, Bicester, where we have supported db symmetry with the 40 acre site, which has the capacity to deliver up to 675,000 sq ft of logistics floor space.

With units ranging from pre-sold, sold and under construction to those with outline planning consent, the site provides a prominent location with excellent transport links to the national motorway and trunk road network.

Feasibility Director, Seb Rose, comments: “We are delighted to continue supporting db symmetry following the great team work at Bicester. We’re looking forward to helping bring such a respected, national brand such as Co-Op to the Biggleswade site. The distribution centre will provide a first-class facility for the retailer, as well as a tangible positive impact on employment in the local economy.”
